Guided Emotional Change Platform · for anxiety, overthinking & people-pleasing

Built from years of clinical practice

Knowing why you do it
doesn't stop you doing it.

Noma is for people who understand why they react the way they do — but still can't change it.

Not meditation. Not therapy. Not another content library. Noma helps you change the emotional patterns beneath your reactions.

The snap at someone you love. The yes when you mean no. The 3am spiral. The shrinking in rooms where you want to feel confident. The exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix.

These aren't who you are. They're what your nervous system learned to keep you safe.

Noma is a digital emotional wellbeing platform that helps you understand and change the emotional patterns behind anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism and emotional overwhelm. Unlike meditation apps or content libraries, Noma is built around structured guided audio experiences — created by a Clinical Hypnotherapist — that help you respond differently over time.

What is Noma?

Noma is a digital emotional wellbeing platform that helps people understand and change the emotional patterns behind anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism and emotional overwhelm — through guided audio experiences, conversational support and reflection.

Created by Julie Cochrane, Clinical Hypnotherapist. Not a meditation app. Not a content library. A structured journey that creates real change in how you respond.

What's included in your membership

  • Foundations — The first three sessions. A curated starting sequence that creates the foundation for everything that follows.
  • Full audio library — An expanding collection of guided sessions beyond Foundations, covering every area of emotional support.
  • Companion — Conversational support between sessions, drawing on Julie's therapeutic approach.
  • Reflect — Guided post-session journaling to deepen and integrate what shifted in a session.
  • Sleep & Rest — Dedicated sessions for rest and recovery.

Who Noma is for

People who feel stuck in patterns they understand but cannot change. People who want something that reaches deeper than insight, mindfulness or willpower. People who know something is running in the background and want to work with it directly.

About Julie Cochrane

Julie Cochrane is a Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Canada. She has worked with clients one-on-one for years and built Noma to bring the quality of that work to people who can't access or sustain regular one-on-one sessions.

Her approach: patterns are not personality. What appears as anxiety, overreaction, people-pleasing, perfectionism or emotional shutdown is a nervous system doing what it learned to do. The goal is not to manage these responses but to change them at the level where they live.

Can an app actually create lasting change?

The sessions in Noma are not passive listening. They are clinician-designed guided audio experiences built to help you recognise, understand and gradually change the emotional patterns behind how you respond. Members who engage consistently for three to four weeks typically notice that their patterns show up less automatically. The sessions are tools. How much changes depends on how consistently you use them.

What members say

"I've spent years in therapy understanding why I overreact. Noma is the first thing that's actually changed it. I still have big feelings, but they don't run me the way they used to."

— Sarah, Vancouver, BC

"I said yes to things I resented for so long I stopped noticing I was doing it. Something shifted after about three weeks. I still catch myself starting to agree, but now there's a pause I didn't have before."

— Michael, Seattle, WA

"The snap comes out of nowhere. Or it used to. I can still feel the spike, but it doesn't automatically become a reaction anymore. My partner noticed before I did."

— Emma, Calgary, AB

"I'd been managing my anxiety for years. Noma isn't management — it's something different. The 3am thoughts still come, but they're quieter, and I go back to sleep faster."

— Rachel, Portland, OR

"I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop even when things were good. I didn't realise how much energy that took until it started to ease."

— David, Denver, CO

"I thought I was just an anxious person. That was just how I was wired. Three months in and I don't think about it the same way anymore."

— Lauren, Toronto, ON

Common questions

Is Noma a meditation app?

Not exactly. Meditation is often about helping you become calmer in the moment. Noma is designed to help you understand and gradually change the emotional patterns that keep showing up in your life. The goal isn't simply to help you feel better for a few minutes — it's to help you begin responding differently over time. You won't find hundreds of relaxation tracks. You'll find guided experiences designed around moments like when anxiety starts before the day begins, when you're caught overthinking, when you keep putting everyone else first. That's why many people describe Noma as feeling very different from a meditation app.

Can guided audio really create lasting change?

Listening alone doesn't create change. The way an experience is designed does. Each guided experience in Noma is designed to help you recognise emotional patterns, understand why they developed, and gradually respond differently through repeated corrective emotional experiences. Real change happens through repetition — not just insight.

Do I need therapy first?

No. Noma isn't therapy and doesn't require any prior experience with therapy or mindfulness. It's designed for people who want to understand and gradually change the patterns behind how they feel and respond — wherever they're starting from. Some members use Noma alongside therapy. Others use it instead.

What makes Noma different?

Most emotional wellbeing tools are built around content — libraries of meditations, exercises, or strategies. Noma is built around a journey. It starts with understanding your specific pattern, then guides you through sessions designed to work with that pattern directly. Structured, not random. Designed for lasting change, not daily maintenance.

What if I don't know what's wrong?

That's the most common starting point. Most people arrive with a felt sense — something is off, but they can't quite name it. The free Emotional Patterns Assessment is designed to help you identify what's most active. You don't need a diagnosis or a clear problem statement. That's what the assessment is for.

What if I've never had therapy?

Noma doesn't require any prior therapeutic experience. It's designed to work whether you've spent years in therapy or you're approaching emotional work for the first time. The sessions start from the beginning and are accessible without background knowledge or clinical experience.

Is an app really enough to create lasting change?

The question isn't whether it's an app — it's whether the approach works. Noma is built on the same principles Julie uses in one-on-one sessions: structured guided audio experiences that work with the emotional pattern directly, not just the surface behaviour. Members who engage consistently for 3–4 weeks typically notice their patterns showing up less automatically. The sessions are a tool; how much changes depends on how consistently you use them.
